Actor Life Cycle

There are two types of Actors: poolable and non-poolable.

  • Poolable actors are created once and recycled each time they are used. These actors are disposed of only at the end of the level.
  • Non-poolable actors can be spawned in any quantity, but spawning them is an expensive procedure.

The number of actors in a pool is limited. You cannot have more than that many actors spawned at once. The pool size is set per level in the level scenario; the default values are defined in archetypes_library.
